Update on Fray Bentos pulp mill start-up

The optimization of the fibre line process is continued. Adjustments in the
operation of digestor, bleaching, washing and drying machine are carried out. 

The processes in the recovery line are proceeding. Yesterday evening Uruguayan
time, the causticizing was commenced. In this process, white liquor is
regenerated from green liquor. The white liquor is reutilized in the digestor. 

The mill has already produced such amount of pulp that the first barge is being
loaded and it will leave in a couple of days towards the Nueva Palmira harbour
carrying one thousand tons of pulp. The capacity of the barges is 3500 tons,
but this is the first trial trip of the barge with pulp. 

Yesterday, the Uruguayan environmental authorities were present at the mill
evaluating the proceedings of the mill start-up process and taking their own
samples to monitor the operations of the mill.
