Wilh. Sonesson and pharmaceuticals company Ferrosan sign cooperation
The Wilh. Sonesson subsidiary Hälsokostcentralen (HKC) has signed a
cooperation agreement with Ferrosan for the distribution of Ferrosan
AB's health and cosmetics product range in the Swedish market. At the
wholesale level, the agreement corresponds to sales of approximately SEK
90 M during 2001.
Ferrosan has chosen to coordinate the distribution of all of its health
and personal care products in Sweden through HKC.
The product range includes familiar brands such as Imedeen, Eskimo-3 and
Zinaxin. At the end of 2001, Ferrosan acquired CostMedic, which is based
in Huskvarna in southern Sweden.
"We are extremely satisfied that Ferrosan signed this strategically
important agreement with HKC," says Anders Sjöholm, who is soon to
assume the post of President of Wilh. Sonesson.
"We have evaluated various alternatives to coordinate and improve the
efficiency of our distribution of health and personal care products in
Sweden. We have chosen HKC, which is the market leader in specialist
health retailing with efficient logistics and customer care," says Lars
Andersson, Executive Director of Ferrosan AB.
Hälsokostcentralen (HKC) was founded in 1938 and is the leading
wholesaler of health and personal care products in Sweden. Its share of
the market amounts to approximately 70 percent within the specialist
health-retailing segment. In 2001, sales amounted to SEK 385.8 M.
Ferrosan was founded in 1920 and is one of Denmark's leading companies
in personal and skin care in tablet form. In 2001, sales amounted to
approximately SEK 620 M.
