Mark Richardson, Co-Chairman of Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., appointed Fellow in Harvard’s Housing Studies
Leading area remodeler announces Richardson’s appointment by Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies this academic year
Bethesda, Md. – August 16, 2011 – Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., the largest full service residential remodeling firm in the DC Metro area, announced that Co-Chairman Mark Richardson was named a Fellow in Housing Studies by Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies for the academic year 2011-2012.
As a participant in the Remodeling Futures Program in Harvard’s Housing Studies, Richardson along with the Joint Center will evaluate and report on emerging housing issues and community development policies, analyze the relationships between housing markets and economic and demographic trends, and provide government, businesses and nonprofits with information needed to develop effective policies.
“Keeping consumers and leaders in the industry informed about the emerging trends has always been a passion of mine,” says Mark Richardson. “I’m honored to be part of this prestigious group of professionals who research and evaluate the ever-changing remodeling industry.”
Richardson also heads up the Case Institute of Remodeling, an educational arm of Case that provides ongoing training, resources and business tools for the professional remodeling community. As a national speaker and author of monthly magazine columns, Richardson has also been featured in The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and Forbes and appeared on HGTV. With a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Certified Remodeler (CR) designation and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelers Hall of Fame inductee, he was also named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in Real Estate & Construction for the Maryland region five years ago, the only remodeler in the 20-year history of the program to receive this distinction.
