High-density solution allows simultaneous monitoring of hundreds of transport streams

Sandefjord, Norway—September 13, 2013—Nevion, a leading provider of next-generation managed media transport, will debut the TNS4200, a high density, very flexible media monitoring platform at IBC, stand 1.B71.

Part of Nevion’s nSure line of intelligent monitoring and switching solutions, the TNS4200 Media Monitoring Probe is a powerful toolbox that provides continuous monitoring of up to several hundred transport streams, enabling fast fault detection and diagnostics for higher uptimes. With numerous ASI and IP inputs within its compact 1RU frame, the TNS4200 is highly flexible and can be configured to reflect customised monitoring rules.  The new probe is designed for video-centric network monitoring and features an intuitive, easy-to-use web-based interface and easy integration with any Network Management System (NMS).

“This is a powerful platform for the new age of media transport,” said Janne T. Morstøl, chief product and development officer. “Its design and engineering make it efficient, cost-effective and flexible for use in a wide range of applications - from cable, satellite and IPTV headends to primary distribution monitoring for DTT networks requiring more in-depth monitoring and performance features.”

The TNS4200 simplifies error tracking and helps resolve issues faster to ensure high availability. It continuously monitors a high number of streams (TSoIP) per unit without compromising on performance. TNS4200 combines features for monitoring transport streams and underlying IP infrastructures, offering a future-proof solution for monitoring IP-based networks. Offering various monitoring capabilities such as ETR101 290 priority 1-3, trend monitoring, SFN delay and T2-MI monitoring, and service monitoring, the TNS4200 enables operators to easily and accurately qualify and quantify the performance of their networks. User-friendly features like template monitoring also provide a high degree of autonomy and simplify operations. The highly flexible unit can be used in satellite, cable, IPTV and DTT networks.

Like all Nevion nSure products, the TNS4200 can be configured via an easy-to-use web interface and interact with overlaying network management systems. The platform is integrated with Nevion’s NMS and is designed for efficient and easy integration with any third-party NMS.
