Known as the Rooftop Preacher Pastor Corey Brooks lasted for 94 days atop an abandoned motel. Now Pastor Brooks is inviting others community members to “come celebrate with us as we commemorate that event by Camping Out for the Cause at Tent City. Don’t miss this great opportunity to pitch your tent along-side the “Roof Top Preacher” for 3 days on the grounds where the hotel once stood.”
Tent City Setup is scheduled for Wednesday, November 21st from 9am - 6pm, and on Thursday, November 22nd from 8am - 12 noon. The 72 hour fundraiser and camp out will begin at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day immediately following a 5:30pm press conference. Encourage your family and friends to join you and give towards Helping Others Obtain Destiny. Campers will be asked to seek donations to ProjectHOOD at www.projecthood.org. Donors are also encouraged to stop by the Tent City Camp Site at 6625 S. King Drive to make donations as well.
“We've had more murders to date, than all of last year and are on pace to hit 500 murders for the year! With our combined efforts, we can stop the violence that is plaguing our communities, making them a better and safer place to live.” His first vigil atop a roof was culminated with a $100,000 donation from media mogul Tyler Perry which sparked the visionary’s new philanthropic sacrifice of a nationwide walk to raise funds toward the $15M goal for the construction.
