Nimo-KG in record-breaking new deal with Findus

More than the net worth of a full annual turnover – in one single order. That is the size of tech supplier Nimo-KG’s latest order from food giant Findus, which is about to majorly update its production plant in southern Sweden. The new machines are to be up and running in less than a year and will, at full production, handle virtually all products leaving the factory. 260 000 different packs of frozen vegetables – each day.
”This is our single most comprehensive project ever and we are certainly extremely proud of this opportunity,” says Torsten Palmgren, Sales Manager at Nimo-KG.

For almost 25 years Nimo-KG, a specialist in tailor-made technical solutions for the food industry, has supported the Findus factory in southern Sweden. The production plant produces a majority of Findus different varieties of frozen vegetables and wok mixes, and already uses a large number of lifts, tipping devices, weighing stations and mixers from Nimo-KG. The different assignments so far have varied in scope, but even the largest ones are easily topped by the latest order: A complete mixing station made entirely out of stainless steel. 36 meters long.

”This addition is a major part of the largest investment project ever at Findus, and with Nimo-KG’s help we now increase our competitiveness against other European producers even further,” says Ronny Bengtsson, Plant Manager at Findus.

In January 2014 Nimo-KG was informed that their offered solution had been chosen, after fierce competition by three other suppliers. And, in order to be able to deliver on time – they got to work right away.

”We will work intensively on this project throughout 2014. The facility includes a hefty platform in stainless steel with a total of 17 tipping devices and the same number of isolated buffer pockets. Each pocket has its own vibrating chute underneath, which shakes the frozen vegetables onto a weighing container – in order to ensure that each individual amount of vegetables is correct before the different parts are mixed together in seven enormous blenders. The size of the project has required an extraordinary internal effort, and besides hiring a new designer we will also bring in additional consulting assistance this spring,” says Torsten Palmgren.
