12 - 13 July 2014

Straddling four locations along the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the Classic Cars and Vehicles Weekend on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July promises a superb array of historic motor vehicles for two days of automobile heaven!

With hundreds of classic vehicles expected to park up at Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont stations, visitors to the weekend can use the Park & Train Ride service, from Pickering station up the line to see the myriad motors on display. Vehicles confirmed for this year’s event include a rare example of a 1908 steam car visiting Pickering station on Sunday, a 1914 Royal Enfield combination stretcher motorbike and a 1927 Standard 14/28, alongside a wide range of vehicles right up to a 1990 Rolls Royce at Goathland in Sunday.

“This will be a huge treat for any car enthusiast, and with a train ride through the glorious North York Moors national park as visitors travel between the different venues, it should be a wonderful weekend to remember,” comments marketing manager, Danielle Ramsey. “From luxury cars like Daimlers and Bentleys, to Ford Escorts and Capris, this will be a nostalgic ride down memory lane for everyone brought up over the last century – the collection really is that wide!”

Throughout the weekend, alongside the classic vehicles, visitors to Levisham Station will be serenaded with live music from Five Divide on Saturday and Jive Express on Sunday from 12.30pm to 4.00pm, with miniature traction engines also on display each day.

At Pickering station, the Learning Centre will be filled with model railway layout displays, courtesy of the Scarborough & District Railway Modellers for those who prefer their vehicles to fit in a pocket!

Tickets for the weekend are available from the booking office or online at www.nymr.co.uk. There will be no parking available for the weekend at Levisham and Goathland stations, and only limited parking capacity at Grosmont, visitors are advised to use the National Park car parks at Goathland and Grosmont.
