Kosta Boda welcomes the spring with pastel colours and shapes that take us to the world of fairytales. The scholarship holder Jakob Solgren provides the fairytale world in Kosta Boda’s spring collection. His candlesticks called Hills take us to My Little Pony land, in which billowing shapes and soft pastel hues give free rein to all happy thoughts.

The cheery colours are also visible in Ulrica Hydman-Vallien’s Happy Going, where the seductive handkerchief shape is embellished with transparent shades of colour and vibrant paintings. Ludvig Löfgren has also been inspired by light, bright colours.

Cabana – Vases
Design: Ludvig Löfgren
With clear inspiration from the 1950s, Ludvig Löfgren has created his new series Cabana. He works with austere shapes and subdued colours in shades of on-trend purple, turquoise, orange and green. Coloured staves of glass have been melted together, shaped and blown. The pattern is reminiscent of a thatched roof on a Cabana as protection from the sun on a warm beach.

Caramba – Sculpture and goblet
Design: Ulrica Hydman-Vallien
Caramba! Now we’re talking! Ulrica dares to stand out with a bold sculpture and a goblet in the original Caramba colours, black and white, and both creations are made with the best craftsmanship there is. We are celebrating the fact that Caramba was born 25 years ago by launching this special edition that will only be on sale in 2011. All the items are naturally hand-painted by skilled glass painters in the Kingdom of Crystal.

Contrast – Bowls, vases and dishes
Design: Anna Ehrner
This spring’s colours are delicate and mild. Fresh green hues flow around bowls and dishes with contrasting glass threads in bright green, pale purple and white. The successful Contrast series is being expanded with yet another popular colour. A perfect gift for summer celebrations.

Happy Going – Bowls
Design: Ulrica Hydman-Vallien
You can’t help but be cheerful when you see the three bowls in the Happy Going series. Bowls in new shapes and strong, joyful colours can brighten up the most subdued of sitting rooms. Ulrica explains that the friendly animal peeking out from among the folds radiates happiness. The hand-made bowls come in wonderful summer colours: pink, blue and yellow.

Hills – Candlestick
Design: Jakob Solgren
Jakob Solgren is a new designer at Kosta Boda. The company has commissioned him to do a project, and his first products take us into the world of fairytales. Jakob has created candlesticks with rounded, friendly shapes, and they are equally attractive as sculptures. Softly formed like hills and clouds in bubblegum colours. Hills is the place where the rainbow never disappears …

Make Up – Sculpture
Design: Åsa Jungnelius
New lipsticks by Åsa Jungnelius for people who love gorgeous things with a touch of rock ‘n’ roll and punk, things that are flashy, charming, and hot or cool … The colours are pink, black and gold.

In brief, Make Up Lipstick evokes that must-have feeling!

My Wide Life – Sculpture
Design: Ludvig Löfgren
Ludvig Löfgren has extended his circle of friends with two new pals. The monkey called Shock the Monkey, the gorilla Gabba Gabba Hey and the cobra Luminous Fangs are joined by a wild elephant with flapping ears, Abulabbas, and a small, sly monkey, Rudie. Both sculptures are hand-made by skilled glass blowers at Åfors Glassworks.

Noël of the Year – Sculpture
Design: Anna Ehrner
Anna Ehrner has extended her family of Santas. Her Noël of the Year 2011 is, of course, another cute addition, resplendent in a hat in “Falu” red, a classic Swedish hue, with ochre-yellow dots. Collect the whole family and create a classic Christmas atmosphere!

Open Minds – Vase
Design: Ulrica Hydman-Vallien
For everyone who needs a little luxury and flair, Ulrica has made an extra luxurious version of Open Minds, painted using real gold – for pure enjoyment. With this festive special edition we’re celebrating the fact that Open Minds was launched 25 years ago. Made in 2011 only.

Verde – Vase and bowl
Design: Göran Wärff
Göran Wärff allows the soul of the glass to flow in the shape it chooses, resulting in attractively soft harmonious forms created by skilled glass blowers. Transparent glass with pops of green colour, just as the name of the series suggests.

Lady Gutter – Sculpture
Design: Kjell Engman
Edition 300
Female torsos captured in mid-movement, rising out of their plinth. Cast, shaped and painted by hand. This is a symbol of the magical power of women and it is a memorable gift to a special friend. One is made of clear crystal and the other is painted in shimmering gold.

Blue Hawaii – Sculpture
Design: Ludvig Löfgren
Edition 100
This beauty from the South Pacific, sitting peacefully under cooling palm trees, is hard to resist. The little lady is cast and hand-painted; the South-Pacific island is also cast, and the palm leaves are sculpted. All made with much love at Åfors Glassworks.

Goddess I and II – Sculpture
Design: Ulrica Hydman Vallien
Edition 100
Ulrica Hydman-Vallien is an artist with a big heart. In her limited edition series Goddess she has created goddesses for us to delight in. They are cheerful, wish you well and keep a friendly watchful eye over us. The colours are pastel pink and turquoise, and all the goddesses are mouth-blown and hand-painted with black features. Each goddess is unique and makes a special gift for a close friend.

Make Up – Goblet
Design: Åsa Jungnelius
Edition 300
Åsa Jungnelius likes to highlight the issue of what is feminine in relation to what is masculine in our society. Her entry into the traditional Swedish Kingdom of Crystal has attracted a lot of attention. In these goblets she showcases her humorous side. These are totally gorgeous and fun goblets for girls and guys. The lipstick mark is Åsa’s own and the moustache has a classic shape, painted on by hand. You can borrow each other’s glasses if you prefer – and if you’re allowed to.

Snippa – Votive
Design: Åsa Jungnelius
Edition 200
A beautiful harmoniously shaped votive in sober black. Åsa Jungnelius plays with our senses when she creates shapes that deviate from our ingrained frames of reference. She want us to see the beauty in shapes not previously created. In Snippa, shaped like a vulva, she shows no limits and demonstrates that she is a goal-oriented artist who dares to be different.

Sugar Dandy – Candlestick
Design: Åsa Jungnelius
Edition 300
Åsa Jungnelius launched her Sugar Dandy series in 2010 and the entire series has attracted great attention. The unusual shapes and colours of the glasses elevate glass-making skills to a whole new level. As a natural expansion, she is now launching two decorative candlesticks with marbled columns in black and white. One has a black candleholder and black flowing details, and the other is painted using real gold. All the candlesticks are mouth-blown in the glassworks of Småland, Sweden, and are hand-painted.

Meditation – Sculpture
Design: Anna Ehrner
Edition 60
Beautifully understated and harmonious. Anna Ehrner’s Meditation creates a sense of tranquillity for the soul. There are no unnecessary details. It is pure, beautiful and meditative. It is blown, sawn and cut, and Anna Ehrner has engraved it herself. The thin layers of glass cast long shadows and the crystal ball rests heavily in the centre of the sculpture.

Navigator and Voyage – Sculpture
Design: Bertil Vallien
Edition 500
Life is a journey. For Bertil Vallien journeys have always been a source of inspiration, be they trips to far-flung countries, or calm meditative inner journeys. In Navigator and Voyage the black boats are travelling in uncharted, eventful waters. Who knows whether they will eventually bring their passengers to safety on the journey of life? Only Bertil Vallien knows.

Tavola Tableau – Table
Design: Göran Wärff
Edition 100
Göran Wärff is one of Kosta Boda’s most popular artists. During his many years of work as a designer at Kosta Boda he has created timeless classics. A few years ago he became fascinated by fusing techniques and by the idea of re-using his old series of glass creations. In the Tavola Tableau table you can make out a few of Göran’s classics, now in a new guise thanks to the constant advances of technical development. The table is a beautiful decorative jewel.

Memories – Sculpture
Design: Göran Wärff
Edition 200
Shards of glass are carefully fitted together like in a jigsaw puzzle, heated and melted together. The creation is then gently cooled and cut to make sculptures. Each shard is a memory. Recreated using new technology and by skilled glassmakers. The shape is elegantly understated and simple, and the veils of colour form unique patterns and stories. Let yourself be captivated by these beautiful memories.
