Half-Term Fun at Conkers this Autumn

Moira, nr. Swadlincote – This Half-Term holiday, the award-winning Conkers attraction in the heart of the National Forest, will be laying-on a fun-packed two weeks of activities and entertainment to keep the whole family busy – all included in the normal ticket price. Starting on Monday the 18th October - from Dream Ponies and Ranger craft activities, through to circus workshops and the Animal Man, Nick Spellman - every day of the holiday has something going on - right through to Sunday 31st October. Each day, the Centre’s rangers will be hosting daily craft sessions between 12pm and 3pm. Gerry O’Brien, head ranger said: “We have put together some great craft activities that the children will enjoy, making items such as pumpkin plates, stick puppets, owl craft, floating ghosts, scary pictures and winter collages.” Tuesday the 19th, Tuesday 26th and Thursday 28th October will see the fabulous Dream Ponies return to Conkers, giving children the chance to ride them, fully-supervised, between 12pm and 4pm. Circus workshops will take place on Wednesday 20th, Friday 29th and Sunday 31st of October where children will be taught the age-old skills of the circus, including juggling, acrobatics and the prestigious role of ringmaster. Star of CITV, Nick ‘Animal Man’ Spellman, makes a welcome return to Conkers, on Monday 25th and Wednesday 27th of October, with his exciting show in the Waterside Amphitheatre. Performances take place at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Tuesday 26th and Saturday 30th of October has Ernest, Ashby, Gabriel and Moira - The Forest Dwellers - perform in the Amphitheatre, giving children the opportunity to sing along to some classic old and new party songs. Performances are at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
