All Abilities Welcome at Family Friendly 5K Run and 3K Walk Benefiting Pathways Center

CHICAGO (May 17, 2012) – Pathways.org, a not-for-profit organization, is pleased to announce its 8th Annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 2, 2012. The race will benefit Pathways Center, a state-of-the-art outpatient therapy clinic for children with motor, sensory, and communication challenges located in Glenview, Ill. Funds raised at the event will help support general operations, new therapy equipment, supplies, and other items benefiting the children at Pathways Center.

Described as “the most inspirational 5K in Chicago,” by David Wallach of Pace of Chicago, the race will start at 8:30 am and welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and abilities. The USATF certified, scenic course begins at Pathways Center and winds through Gallery Park and around Lake Glenview. The event will be fun for the whole family with an award ceremony, refreshments, music by Sarah and Hannah, face painting, balloon twisting, and children’s games after the race.

Registration is now open at www.pathways.org/pathways-center. Participants who register by May 17 will be guaranteed a race t-shirt. Entry fees before May 17 are $25/person and are $30/person after that date. Fees are $10 for children ages 4-12 and children 3 and under are free.

Check-in/Registration on June 2 is from 7:15 am until 8:15 am at Pathways Center located at 2591 Compass Road, Suite 100 in Glenview, Ill. Therapeutic bikes and wagons are permitted and service animals only are allowed.
