Paynova and WM-data have signed a partnership agreement for the sale, installation and support of Paynova’s electronic payment solution. The agreement covers WM-data’s deliveries of IT systems and services for the “24-hour authority” initiated by the Swedish government, as well as other IT assignments of WM-data that require secure and competitive payment systems.

WM-data is the supplier for “Infratjänst 2003”, a comprehensive project for which the government has assigned the Swedish Agency for Administrative Development the task of coordinating the public administration’s purchases in IT and telecommunications, in order to create the so-called “digital organisation”, upon which the overall concept of the “24-hour authority” is based.

‘We can see that the need for secure and efficient payment solutions is increasing. For one thing, they are important components when creating the “digital organisation”,’ says Lennart Jonsson, public sector business development manager at WM-data. ‘Paynova’s wallet solution has been tested and evaluated, and we can therefore also recommend it for other assignments, such as e-retail.

The “24-hour authority” is a popular term for national, regional and local authorities that must be accessible via the Internet 24 hours a day. On the various authorities’ websites, in future not only will you be able to retrieve information, but you will also be able to order services, obtain documents, book appointments and also pay the charges for these.

‘WM-data’s choice of Paynova as a partner is an extremely valuable recognition of us and our payment solution,’ says Pelle Hjortblad, CEO of Paynova AB. ‘It will be included as an advanced additional service when the authorities construct their own websites and e-services. But there is also another interesting aspect: WM-data develops and installs IT solutions for numerous other companies, including for the passenger transport market, in which we have recently signed some significant agreements. Through our partnership with WM-data, we will come in at an early stage, and together we can offer competitive solutions that simplify administration of bookings and payments.’

About the 24-hour authority:

The 24-hour authority is an overall concept for authorities, including local and regional authorities, which is user-oriented, works openly and efficiently with public service and which must be accessible to citizens and companies via the Internet whenever they demand it. The authorities create their own websites and e-services within a specific framework. WM-data’s concept for supporting the authorities in this development is known as the digital organisation.
