Peab builds nursing and care homes in Kumla

Peab has been contracted to build 60 apartments in the care accommodation Diakonen in Kumla. The client is Kumla Municipality and the contract value is approximately SEK 140 million.

- With the construction of Diakonen we contribute to the development Kumla Minicipality and fill the need to take good care of their older inhabitants, says Nils Staffansson, Regional Manager at Peab.

The project consists of 60 nursing homes in the ground floor, divided into six sections. Total volume is approximately 6700 square meters. The entire building is designed considering that the residents should be able to walk around the building and within their department. Outdoor, a varied courtyard will be built, including a bridge over a water mirror. There will also be facilities for residents, administrative premises and catering facilities with goods entrance.

Construction started in August 2015 and the project is scheduled for completion in autumn 2017.
