STOCKHOLM - 2016-10-28 - Peppy Pals, the company behind the award-winning apps and e-books that teach kids 2-8 years about emotions, empathy and friendship, has finished as the only Nordic company and among the Top 12 Social Innovators, in the global competition UBS Social Innovators. UBS Social Innovators program seeks to find high-potential social enterprises that are delivering innovative solutions to society’s most pressing challenges.

By using story-telling and humor, Peppy Pals vision is to create a future generation of higher Emotional Intelligence (EQ) to prevent bullying, hatred and exclusion worldwide.

Research suggests that higher EQ not only reduces the chance of being bullied or bullying others, it also increases one’s capacity to forgive, improves one’s self-esteem and increases one’s level of empathy.

“We are incredibly grateful for this recognition. There is no gene for empathy. Just like math, language or reading, we need to start practicing emotional literacy early on, and there is no doubt that there is an urgent need for empathy in the world today. Successful people don’t operate alone and we hope this will inspire more people to do good.”  - Rosie Linder, CEO and Founder, Peppy Pals

The UBS Social Innovators program is run with support from Ashoka, the world’s largest network of social entrepreneurs worldwide committed to putting system-changing ideas into practice on a global scale.

“The partnership between UBS and Ashoka is important. As the rate of change in the world continues to accelerate exponentially, financial and social systems must change profoundly – and much faster. Such change requires the top-caliber social entrepreneurs we will help launch and grow together.” - Bill Drayton, Founder and CEO, For Ashoka: Innovators for the Public

Peppy Pals has previously been honored to lead the change of children’s wellbeing through Reach for Change, Sweden’s toughest competition for social entrepreneurs.
