BlogPaws 2013 Pet Blogging and Social Media Award winners announced.

The BlogPaws 2013 Pet Blogging and Social Media Award winners were recently announced in an exclusive red carpet ceremony that was live-streamed from Tysons Corner, Virginia. The winners were selected "Oscar style" by a panel of pet professionals.

BlogPaws, the first and original social media network and conference designed by and for pet bloggers, recently revealed their twelve winners of the 2013 BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards in an exclusive red carpet ceremony held in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The ceremony featured celebrity emcee, “The Voice of Westminster,” David Frei.

The BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards are considered by many to be the pet industry’s highest honor in the premier pet blogger and micro-blogger online space. All entries are judged by a panel of industry professionals. Finalists and winners are chosen for their expertise in their category. The process involves judging each category on creativity, originality and overall impression, followed by design, content, purpose, clarity or humor as it pertains to the specific category.

Official sponsors of the awards, Natural Balance Pet Foods and Petcurean, provided 200 pounds of food each (400 pounds total) to the shelter or rescue organization of the winner’s choice. Pets Add Life sponsored the exclusive ceremony. On behalf of the twelve winners, BlogPaws donated a K-9 police vest to Arlington Police Department’s Officer Binckley and his dog, Hugo, and 10 sets of oxygen pet masks to the Prince George County Fire and EMS Department. PetSmart, a continued supporter of the BlogPaws community, donated gift bags for each finalist.

"We at Petcurean want to congratulate the recipients of Nose-to-Nose for their dedication to the health and wellness of pets," says Jessica Holtz, Marketing Manager at Petcurean. "We are honored to be able to support each of the winner’s charities with our delicious and healthy recipes for cats in need as part of our partnership with BlogPaws 2013. We consistently hear that pets become healthier, happier and more alert on our recipes and want to help make that a reality for all pets, everywhere.”

“Natural Balance is committed to helping animals and we’re excited to help by supplying 2,400 lbs of Organic dry dog food to pet charities selected by the winners of the BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Social Media & Pet Blogging Awards,” Judy Tsai of Natural Balance shared. “A big thank you from Natural Balance to the charities selected for the extraordinary work they do on behalf of animals in need!”

"We were thrilled to come on board in support of the 2013 Nose-To-Nose awards to help honor the winners and the entire BlogPaws community," said Evan Filler, Pets Add Life social media manager. "Bloggers demonstrate a huge love and passion for pets of all types, and we commend them for their work to help raise awareness and spread the joys and benefits of pet ownership. We're extremely proud to support them."
