Offenbach, 20th October 2011

A select few lucky music fans from around Europe will rub shoulders with the biggest names in the industry at the star-studded 2011 MTV EMAs next month in Belfast, courtesy of Hyundai. A headline partner of the event – and supplier of the Veloster coupe as the event’s ‘Official Wheels’ – Hyundai has launched a music competition on Facebook with the exclusive top prize of tickets to the show, putting fans at the heart of the action among music’s leading talents.

The Facebook-based 1+2 Music Quiz challenges music lovers to demonstrate their knowledge, with the promise of an unmissable prize for the top performers. One of the players achieving the maximum score will be chosen to win three tickets – one winner plus two friends – for the 2011 MTV EMAs. Travel and accommodation will also be provided by Hyundai, making for a real VIP package.

The lucky winners will experience the excitement of the live music performances first-hand, as well as feeling the tension when the nominees for each category are presented. The prize also includes smartphones provided by MTV, so the winners can share the most thrilling moments with their friends on Facebook.

The glittering line-up in Belfast will feature musicians and bands from across the world, as MTV celebrates the year’s best in music. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Adele are among the leading contenders for awards, each with nominations in multiple categories.

The 1+2 Music Quiz takes its inspiration from the unique, asymmetric door layout of the Hyundai Veloster sports coupe – one door on the driver side, two on the passenger side – for maximum practicality and safety wrapped up in an eye-catching design.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented: “The 2011 MTV EMAs will be a great spectacle for the millions of music fans who watch on TV, but for a few very lucky people Hyundai will make the event truly unforgettable. Not only will they experience the drama of the announcements and the elation of the winning artists, but they will also be sitting among hundreds of major names in the music industry.

“Our partnership with the MTV EMAs is a great showcase for the breath-taking Veloster sports coupe, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for Hyundai to bring music lovers to such an exclusive event,” Allan Rushforth concluded.
