Pine Manor College Partners with Kings Colleges and Leaps into International Market
Pine Manor Offers New Programs to Attract International Students and Expand School’s Multicultural Community
Boston, Mass. – Pine Manor College, one of the most diverse four-year liberal arts colleges in the country, announced today that it will expand its diversity through a new partnership with Kings Colleges to attract and serve international students. Students can pursue a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree, attend the English Language Institute, or enroll in the University Foundation Pathway Program, which is designed to transition students directly to their sophomore year of an undergraduate degree.
Kings Colleges specializes in English language training courses and university preparation courses which equip international students for the linguistic and academic demands of leading English-speaking universities. Students enrolled in the co-ed University Foundation Pathway Program will take the same academic courses as regular Pine Manor students, but will receive special English-language training and academic study skills as well.
“This collaboration will help strengthen the ways both Pine Manor and Kings Colleges are able to engage international students and help them succeed,” said William Vogele, Interim Dean of Pine Manor College. “We are excited to welcome students from different cultural backgrounds to our school, as their presence will help enrich the diversity of our student community.”
Another element of the partnership will involve Pine Manor leasing a dedicated facility to Kings Colleges to operate its own English language training school on the campus. In addition, Kings Colleges will heavily recruit academically qualified international students to attend the school.
“Kings Colleges is devoted to helping international students transition into college life, and we are delighted to expand this model to the United States,” said Andrew Green, a Director of Kings Colleges. “We are committed to providing these students with the opportunity to develop their English speaking skills while receiving a top education in one of America’s most beautiful and culturally-rich cities.”
All students enrolled in UFP will receive transferable course accreditation. Pine Manor is currently accepting applications for September 2011 enrollment. For more information, please visit http://www.kingscolleges.com/courses/uk-university-preparation/uni-courses/us-pathways.
