POWER-GEN Europe 2012 confirms keynote speakers for energy industry’s premier conference and exhibition

Leading figures to address crucial topics regarding policies, the green agenda and security and sustainability of supply

London, UK, 09 February 2012 – PennWell is delighted to announce details of this year’s industry speakers for the opening keynote session taking place at POWER-GEN Europe 2012, the Continent’s leading conference and exhibition for the power industry, and its co-located events Renewable Energy World and Nuclear Power Europe. As important figures within their respective fields and representing major industry stakeholders including manufacturers, policy makers and consumer-facing suppliers, the three confirmed speakers for the free to attend keynote are:

  • Philip Lowe, Director General, European Commission,Belgium

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, headed up by Phillip Lowe, is responsible for managing the European Union’s energy policy, as well as helping it meet EU 20-20-20 targets. Philip Lowe will be able to discuss the challenges of helping member states achieve sustainable and secure energy supplies for the future.

  • Michael Süß, Chief Executive Officer, Siemens EnergySector,Germany

As CEO of Siemens Energy Sector, Dr. Michael Süß will provide delegates with an in-depth overview of how industry and regulatory trends are influencing development of power technology, as well as providing his perspective on the direction of future developments.

  • Bernhard Fischer, Chief Executive Officer, E.ONEnergie,Germany

In his position as CEO of E.ON Energie inGermany, Bernhard Fischer is ideally placed to analyse how local and EU directives influence power suppliers and what this means for both end users and businesses involved in the power supply chain.
