Entertainment includes treasure hunt and moonbounce

The merchants of Mount Airy Shopping Center are hosting their annual free pirate event on Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. rain or shine.

The event will feature a store-to-store treasure hunt, moonbounce, balloon artist, face painter, and giveaways. Merchants will host sidewalk sales, in-store promotions and product demonstrations.

“One of our customers says that coming to the event is a date with her son.” said George Rue, owner of Eagle Jewelers. “We see familiar faces every year, and some children even come dressed up as pirates!”

Memories Charcoal House will give out popsicles and host a multi-age group coloring contest. Suntrust Bank, located inside Safeway, will play a guessing game with the children. Mount Airy Studio of Dance students will demonstrate their dance routines, and Great Clips will give out temporary tattoos.

Mount Airy Shopping Center is located on Ridgeville Boulevard in Mount Airy, Md. The center features Safeway, Wal-Mart, and Starbucks. It is owned and managed by The Rappaport Companies of McLean, Va.
