TyreSafe steers new path with York Tyre Sales

TyreSafe, the UK’s leading tyre safety organisation, is pleased to announce that York Tyre Sales has joined the group and is the first independent tyre retailer to become an associate member.

The business, which can be found on the outskirts of York, will now demonstrate its commitment to the safety of its customers and other road users by becoming involved in a wide range of TyreSafe campaigns.

The importance of proper tyre maintenance is nothing new to Chris and Steve Bradley, directors at newly opened York Tyre Sales, which specialises in car, 4x4 and commercial vehicles tyres, as between them they have 60 years’ experience in the industry.

Chris Bradley explained: “As part of my work I’ve seen some absolutely shocking cases of worn and defective tyres, which are just accidents waiting to happen.

“However, TyreSafe plays a vital role in making our roads a safer place so we were only too happy to join. Membership cost is very reasonable, besides, what price can you put on saving lives.

“We aim to promote tyre safety as best we can and will start by offering free tyre safety checks at our site.”

Chris was researching tyre safety when he came across TyreSafe online as the organisation uses a variety of social media tools to help spread its message.

Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe, said: “I applaud York Tyre Sales for its commitment to tyre safety. As a retailer, it can use its influence to educate customers directly on the importance of correct tyre maintenance to avoid becoming just another road casualty statistic.
