Rejlers wins contract when the national grid is expanding in Stockholm

When the Stockholm region expands, the national electricity grid must also expand in order to safeguard power supplies. Digital information management is a key aspect of this and Rejlars has won yet another contract where GIS (Geographic Information Systems) will play an important role.

During the past year, Rejlers has won five contracts which involve extensive GIS processing for Svenska kraftnät. Rejlers collects and analyses data concerning geography, environment, culture and terrain, which provides decision-making input at Svenska kraftnät in their projects relating to stations and power lines.

“In this project, we will work closely with Svenska kraftnät to coordinate digital geographic information management for two key programmes in the Greater Stockholm region,” says Jonas Böös, Business Developer within Energy.

Rejlers will contribute to the development of working methods for geographic data management. Rejlers will also act as a resource in the ongoing projects to produce and harmonise the structure of how GIS is used.

“We will be cohesive and responsible for coordinating GIS deliveries in a number of projects within several programmes,” says Jonas Böös. The programme encompasses reinvestments and developments relating to Svenska kraftnät’s operations. We will work closely with Svenska kraftnät’s line organisation concerning working methods and methodology.

The project will continue for two years with the option of extension.
