London’s largest independent lift manufacturing company, Apex Lifts has successfully obtained a five-year service and maintenance contract for the Museum of London lifts, which will conclude in March 2019.

Apex will be servicing twenty-one lifts across the three separate sites owned by the Museum of London, which are as follows:

  • The Museum of London, 150 London Wall, EC2Y 5HN
  • The Museum of London Docklands, West India Quay, E14 4Al
  • The Museum of London Archaeological Archive, Mortimer Wheeler House, N1 7ED

The lifts range from a modernised 2722kg - 40 person through-car goods lift serving four floors, various sized KONE MonoSpace models, and wheelchair platform lifts to dumbwaiters.

The Museum of London has been open since 1976, and the Museum of London Docklands opened in Canary Wharf in 2003. The Museum is open seven days a week and entry is free to discover the history of London and its people.

“With such a variety of lifts to maintain, this will be an interesting and diverse contract,” says Warren Jenchner, Managing Director of Apex Lifts. “We’re excited to help keep the lifts running, so that visitors can continue to enjoy the museum.”
