Chalkboards are now a popular design statement in homes, particularly in kitchens. Give an old wooden picture frame a new life with a few coats of spray paint. Here we used Rust-Oleum Universal in Real Almond (Gloss). For the chalkboard use a piece of plain MDF (most DIY stores will cut a piece for you to your desired size) sand the edges of the board and give it a light coat with Rust-Oleum Surface Primer (Grey) then apply 2-3 light coats of Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint and leave it to dry. Always follow the instructions on the back of the can and work in a well ventilated area.

Update your appliances

Over time our household appliances can start to look worn and tired, however whilst still in perfect working order it is a shame to replace them with newer models.

Improve the appearance of an old appliance that has been chipped, marked and has discoloured over time with Rust-Oleum Appliance Enamel. Available in White and Stainless Steel (with a gloss finish), the spray paint can breath new life into your appliances! The paint can also help in coordinating old appliances with a new colour scheme.

Make sure you sand any areas where paint is flaking and where there is bare metal or rust, ensure this is treated with Rust-Oleum Surface Primer and mask areas you don’t want painted.

Spray the appliance evenly with your chosen colour, using steady strokes from left to right, keeping the can moving at all times.

Always follow the instructions on the can and spray in a well ventilated area.
