Saab Extends PEP Agreement With Loganair

Defence and security company Saab has extended its replacement parts agreement, the Parts Exchange Programme (PEP), with Scottish airline Loganair. The contract covers five years (2015-2020) and is worth SEK118 million.

The extended agreement comprises component repairs and maintenance services for Loganair's Saab 340 fleet, within the framework of the existing PEP. The Scottish airline operates 15 Saab 340s and five Saab 2000s. Loganair has had a PEP agreement with Saab since 1999.

The PEP is a ‘power by the hour’ programme that supports continuous flight operations by the airline. When Loganair needs to return components to Saab for repair, Saab immediately delivers replacement parts. The defective components are repaired and restored to an airworthy condition ready to be exchanged when again needed by the customer. The result is little or no interruption to airline flight operations.

"Saab will safeguard Loganair's component supply for a further five years. This is testimony to the fact that our customers are very satisfied with the service we offer to civil aviation," says Torsten Öhman, head of the Air business unit, within Saab business area Support and Services.
