– The super material could increase SaltX performance by up to 5 times

SaltX Technology – listed on NASDAQ First North in Stockholm - has entered into definitive agreements with one of few graphene companies that has the know-how and capacity to manufacture the coal-based material graphene. By using graphene, SaltX has been able to demonstrate that the heat conductivity, and thereby the performance, in the SaltX material can be increased by up to five times. The collaboration project starts immediately and is expected to deliver the first batches of graphene material already next year.

As previously communicated, SaltX is since 2016 conducting a graphene development project co-funded by Vinnova. The project runs until April 2018 in close collaboration with Chalmers Industriteknik, who is also in charge of the Swedish innovation program ”SIO Grafen”. Recently, the project presented important progress and positive results.

"This deal is important since it secures critical know-how and capacity for the manufacturing of graphene, which we will use in the next generation SaltX-material for potentially all of our applications. The company is globally competitive in terms of a cost efficient and scalable graphene production” says Karl Bohman, CEO of SaltX Technology

Graphene is a fantastic material since it is incredibly strong, flexible and with conductivity of both heat and electricity. The research within the graphene space goes very fast, which is why we want to continue to be at the forefront improving our competitive edge” says Göran Bolin, founder and CTO at SaltX Technology.

As part of this increasing effort SaltX recruits a dedicated project leader - Moataz Abdelmegid – who has a Master of Science in Energy Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin and previously worked for Schlaich Bergermann Partner – a leading technical consultancy firm within the energy sector in Germany.
