The Nano Coated Salt (NCS) patent has been granted by the authorities in South Korea. The NCS patent family is one of SaltX's most important. Today the patent is already granted in Sweden, China, USA, EU (EPO), Australia and Japan.

Remaining countries where SaltX has applied for the NCS patent, and according to the company's patent representative, are likely to be granted are Brazil and India.

"The NCS technology improves performance and stability in the salt. With the help of our patent, we can make thermo-chemical energy storage in salt commercially viable. We are pleased that our patent applications worldwide have been granted without objections, and that we can now add South Korea as an important market ", says Göran Bolin, SaltX CTO and founder, as well as one of the inventors behind the NCS.

About Nano Coated Salt (NCS)
By coating the SaltX material with different forms of nanoparticles, more energy can be stored in the salt and corrosion is prevented. The material entails a high capacity to store intermittent sources of energy such as wind and solar energy without major losses at a low cost.
