A new branded hardware range from Sapa Building System, one of Europe’s largest suppliers of environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient aluminium building system solutions, will give customers greater choice and flexibility, offering a complete door package.

Simple and functional in design with a high quality finish, the range includes tubular pull handles, surface mounted internal and external door closers, concealed transom closers, push bar activated panic exit devices as well as complementary accessories. Suitable for use across a wide range of building types including offices, schools and social housing, each exit device push bar and surface mounted door closer body is etched with the Sapa logo.

Pull handles in the range come in three distinctive C, D and T shapes and are made from grade 316 marine quality stainless steel which is one of the strongest and most resilient alloys on the market. This makes them suitable for the most climatically challenging environments and allows perfect integration with all of Sapa’s commercial aluminium door solutions. Concealed single sided and double sided fixing options are also available.

Surface mounted door closers work mechanically with a hydraulically damped, stepped gear spring action, which ensures correct functioning under all conditions. They soften the door strike and close the door securely, while in emergency situations they guarantee that fire compartments are separated reliably.

External door closers have a built-in back check and are adjustable for closing forces EN 1-5. Internal door closers are adjustable for closing forces EN 2,3 and 5 by mounting the closer in different positions. All surface mounted closers are suitable for use with fire and smoke protection doors, tested in line with EN1154 for each door closer power size and are CE certified.

Concealed transom closers are double action, fully adjustable for closing forces EN 2-4 and available with or without hold open function. This meets the requirements of the Disability and Equality Act 2010 including the Disability Equality Duty in the DDA, BS 8300 and Approved Document M.

Sapa’s push bar activated panic exit devices provide a safe escape opportunity in case of emergency, are ergonomic, attractive, versatile, non-handed and surface mounted for ease of installation. One push on the horizontal bar is all that is necessary to open the door without a key and with minimum effort. These devices meet the safety and security requirements of the EN 1125 Standard and are CE certified . They are also available as kits for single or three point locking arrangements with optional accessories of a key operated lever or knob external access device.

Mike Taylor, product manager at Sapa Building System, says: ‘All our hardware products have been designed and manufactured to the highest standards. An essential part of most fenestration installations, our branded hardware gives a high end finish and as one of the things you will first see on entering a building, helps to create a good impression. It also gives customers a ‘one stop shop’ option for purchasing door components, meaning they can come to Sapa for complete fenestration solutions.’

All of Sapa Building System’s new branded hardware meets current UK legislation.
