Through a codeshare with Star Alliance partner Singapore Airlines, from this summer SAS customers will be able to fly between Stockholm and Singapore. The route will be operated by an Airbus A350-900, which is the latest addition to the airline’s fleet.

On May 30, SAS and Singapore Airlines will begin a codeshare agreement on flights between Stockholm and Singapore. The route, which operates via Moscow, will have five departures per week. SAS and Singapore Airlines already have cooperation in place on the Copenhagen-Singapore route.

“We are pleased to be developing our cooperation with Singapore Airlines further, which allows us to now also offer our customers the opportunity of traveling to Singapore from Stockholm, and onwards in Asia through our cooperation,” says Rickard Gustafson, CEO of SAS.

This is an expansion of the joint venture agreement that was signed in 2012, which among other things includes the coordination of timetables and joint sales activities. SAS and Singapore Airlines have had a codeshare agreement since December 2010 on a number of routes in Asia and Europe.

“We have been evaluating services to Stockholm for several years and are pleased that we can now introduce services to the Swedish capital using the newest aircraft in our fleet, the Airbus A350-900. It is encouraging that our partnership with Scandinavian Airlines is going from strength to strength,” said SIA’s CEO, Mr Goh Choon
