HR software specialist achieves Investors in People Silver accreditation

Leeds-based HR software specialist Cascade has been awarded the Investors in People (IIP) Silver standard, in recognition of its commitment to employees.

The 119-strong organisation already had the IIP bronze accolade under its belt, having achieved the accreditation in 2012. But committed to continuous development, the progressive company has had its sights firmly fixed on the next tier of IIP recognition ever since.

To secure IIP silver status, the team of HR software experts had to satisfy 115 evidence requirements in a rigorous auditing process that analysed Cascade’s approach to training, development, appraisals, engagement and more. A written application was supplemented by 21 staff interviews, to ensure a consistent approach to people excellence could be demonstrated throughout the company. And following more than two years of hard work towards achieving the accreditation, the journey to IIP silver has proven a success.

The news – which comes 12 months after Cascade was acquired by the IRIS Software Group – is a testament to the deep-rooted culture within the business, believes managing director Alan Jones: “We’ve remained true to the same way of working since we first established the company and had just nine employees. We always had the mindset that people spend such a large part of their life at work, so why not make it a happy and enriching place to be?

“By supporting staff and allowing them to reach their full potential, we have created a vibrant environment in which we learn from one another and deliver an enthusiastic, high quality service to clients. In fact, we are renowned amongst our customer base for our friendly, sprightly approach and our ‘family feel’.”

Maintaining a close knit team is no mean feat for a company that has experienced continued growth, believes Alan. But he feels communication has been the key to Cascade’s ongoing success.  “Regular team meetings, one-to-ones, reviews, appraisals, surveys, newsletters and even company parties, all play an important part in sustaining the people-orientated culture we have worked hard to cement.”

Steve Burrows, Managing Director of Investors in People North of England added: “This is a fantastic achievement for Cascade HR and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that good people make a great business and as a proven organisational development framework, Investors in People is designed to help organisations and their people to realise potential, enhance performance and meet goals.”
