Serneke has been contracted to remodel and extend the Apelvikshöjd Church in Varberg next year. Construction is scheduled to commence in September 2017.

The Apelvikshöjd Church opened as recently as 1989 and was designed by architect Arne Nygård. However, the Church is now in need of remodeling, extension and maintenance. Among other things, an extension is to be constructed with new offices, a new entrance and a cloakroom. A new terrace will be built and the existing bell tower will be moved.

“For us it is a special assignment and an honor to remodel a church and we look forward to helping the Parish of Varberg in this venture,” says Christer Egelind, Works Manager at Serneke Construction.

“As the Apelvikshöjd Church is filled to capacity nearly every Sunday, we need to extend the church. A larger church and better entrance will enable us to continue developing life in the parish,” says Fredrik Ivarsson, Vicar of the Parish of Varberg.

The Apelvikshöjd Church project will be conducted as a coordinated traditional contract and is valued at about SEK 18 million and is included in the order bookings in for the first quarter of 2017.
