Lincolnshirefirm Manorcrest Homes has received national recognition for not one but two of its developments including The Heights inLincolnwhich was highly commended at the recent EastMidlandsMerit Awards (EMMAs).

TheCarline Road development, which was shortlisted in the Small Projects category,

consists of 16 luxury town and coach houses set on a hillside with incredible views overlooking the city.

Commenting on the awards Malcolm Jackson, Regional Director ICE East Midlands, said: “The EMMAs are an annual celebration of the region’s top infrastructure projects. The Small Projects category featured five strong entries and the judges found theCarline Roadstabilisation project worthy of highly commended status because the work carried out has transformed a previously overgrown and evaded site has become one ofLincoln’s most desirable places to live.”

As a further testament to their 15 years in the development business, Manorcrest Homes’ Skegness development, Lumley Fields, has also been shortlisted for recognition by two other organisations.

One being the Daily Telegraph British Home Build Quality Awards 2011 and the other LABC (New Home Warranty) Awards for Excellence 2011 in the category of Development of the Year (1-10 units).

In 2010 Manorcrest Homes, based in Skegness, also won LABC Best Developer of the Year.

Commenting on the nominations so far, Leigh Hall, Director of Manorcrest, said he is particularly pleased with their success in the EMMAs , given the obstacles they have faced.

“The uphillLincolnbased project has not been without its challenges,” explained Leigh.

“Being recognised in this way is a huge honour and makes all the challenges we have had to overcome for this development even more worthwhile. The area has been crying out for development for over 20 years and so it is a pleasure to finally get it off the ground.

“The hard work to redevelop the derelict land will result in the homes having some of the most magnificent views ofLincoln.”

Leigh said that being shortlisted for the Daily Telegraph British Home Build Quality Awards and the LABC Awards for Excellence 2011 is also significant.

“Given that the The Daily Telegraph panel felt that this year’s candidates were the most exceptional to date, Manorcrest had to beat off some particularly tough competition just to be shortlisted.”

The winners of the Daily Telegraph Awards will be announced at a prestigious ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel on 22ndSeptember with the LABC winners being unveiled later that month.

Exciting times are also ahead for Leigh and fellow Director Dean Wann, as they prepare for the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln hotel in November.

Along with Richard Farrar, who runs independent hotel management company leaf HOSPITALITY Leigh and Dean have formed Brayford Hotels - the company behind the hotel development.
