International Business Milestone Achieved at Siemens Factory

Siemens Mechanical Drives (MD) in Leeds has achieved another milestone, after recently celebrating two years at its purpose-built Stourton site: £5.5 million of business in the same period with worldwide operator Metso.

The Leeds factory has just received a new Metso order for eight dumper drive baseplate assemblies and 32 positioner planetary drive assemblies, destined for Huanghua (phase 4) in China. Siemens MD has already supplied a similar number of units for Huanghua Phase 3 earlier this year, another significant export win for the Leeds factory.

Steve Furniss is Engineered Solutions business manager for Mechanical Drives, and he commented: “We have a number of longstanding relationships with key customers like Metso and others, who value the quality of our products, systems and engineering expertise. We are helping these major operators win business globally and we endeavour to provide them with the best possible advice, the most appropriate drive train products and global service support.”

Siemens Mechanical Drives is on Navigation Park, Lockside Road, Stourton, Leeds, tel: 0113 385 2500.
