Skanska awarded contract for Phase 1 of the Battersea Power Stations redevelopment in the UK, worth about GBP 89 M, about SEK 970 M

Skanska has been awarded a two-year contract by integrated support services company, Carillion, to deliver the mechanical and electrical shell, core and fit-out works for 866 prime residential apartments, as part of Phase 1 of the Battersea Power Station redevelopment in London, UK. The contract is worth about GBP 89 M, about SEK 970 M, which will be included in the order booking for Skanska UK in the third quarter 2014. 

The apartments are located in two buildings just west of the Power Station and include a large communal basement and podium areas.

Work on the contract is set to commence in September 2014 and scheduled to conclude in October 2016.

Skanska UK reported revenues of about SEK 12 billion in 2013. It has around 5,200 employees. The company is active in building and civil construction, utilities and building services, as well as facilities management and commercial development. In the UK, Skanska is a leader in public private partnerships, PPPs, also known as Privately Financed Initiatives, PFIs.
