Skanska signs seven-year highways maintenance contract in Hampshire, UK, worth GBP 280M, about SEK 3.1 billion

Skanska has signed a seven-year highways maintenance contract with Hampshire County Council, in the south of England. The total value over the course of the contract will be GBP 280M, about SEK 3.1 billion. The first two years of revenue, GBP 80M, about SEK 890 million, will be included in the order bookings for Europe in the first quarter 2017.

The contract is to maintain nearly 9,000 kilometers of Hampshire’s highway network outside the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, carrying out planned, reactive, winter and emergency maintenance. Skanska will focus on local employment skills, local supply chain opportunities and community projects and it will use innovative and cost-effective solutions from across its business.

The contract will run from 1 August 2017 to 31 March 2024, with extension options for a further five years.
