LAS VEGAS (CES Booth #14200), Jan. 6, 2014 – Sony Canada’s latest Cyber-shot compact camera, the W830 model, delivers fun and creative features in an ultra-compact body, making it easier than ever for consumers to capture high-quality images on-the-go. The new camera enters the Cyber-shot family as an ideal option for consumers looking for an easy-to-use “value” camera that’s also packed with advanced features and capabilities.

The sleek new camera features a high-resolution 20.1 MP CCD sensor paired with a versatile 8x Carl Zeiss optical zoom lens and powerful BIONZ® processor, allowing it to shoot exceptionally detailed still images and 720p HD videos.  Its Optical SteadyShot technology minimizes image blur from camera shake, and an Optical SteadyShot® Active Mode ensures smooth HD videos.

The new W830 camera’s “Beauty Effect” mode is perfect for getting that perfect shot to share with friends and family.  This fun feature allows for several post-shooting “re-touch” options including skin toning and smoothing, teeth whitening, eye widening and shine removal.

The camera’s compatibility with a range of creative Picture Effects lets shooters experiment with artistic treatments like Pop Color, Partial Color, Toy Camera and more.  A 360 Sweep Panorama® mode instantly stitches together multiple exposures for seamless, detailed 360opanoramic shots.

Pricing and Availability

The new Cyber-shot W830 compact camera will be available in black, silver and pink in March 2014 for about $149, and will be sold at Sony retail stores, online at sony.ca and all authorized retailers throughout the Sony dealer network.
