New York, NY(September 12th, 2012) - The Daily Meal - Spanfeller Media Group's (SMG) mega food site - has signed on as a media sponsor of the 2012 Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE. Held from October 11-14, the Festival pays homage to one of the world’s greatest dining cities by uniting culinary masters from around the globe with America’s favorite television chefs, restaurateurs, winemakers, and spirits producers.

As a media sponsor, The Daily Meal will have a substantial presence throughout the Festival, ranging from website and social media integration to onsite signage and recognition on the Festival Tasting Notes. Cemented as the fastest growing food and drink website, with over 5 million unique monthly visitors, the sponsorship allows for The Daily Meal to award its rapidly growing community with allied prizes, such as signed celebrity cookbooks and tickets to exclusive events. The Daily Meal will also produce original online and video content surrounding the Festival from its cadre of Award-winning editors, whilst engaging in live social media coverage.

"The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival is an embodiment of all those things The Daily Meal considers central in the ever-expanding food and drink community, creating an unrivaled dialogue between industry aficionados and everyday food enthusiasts,” said Colman Andrews, editorial director of The Daily Meal. Considering the past months’ record-breaking growth, this partnership helps underpin The Daily Meal as a leading voice in the culinary domain.”

Now in its fifth year, the Food Network New York City Festival benefits the hunger-relief programs of Food Bank for New York City and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the Festival go directly to these community-based organizations. The Daily Meal is honored to align with such a powerful cause and those culinary thought leaders who will spend their time educating palates and entertaining guests for its betterment.
