Stockholm International Film Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary and the focus is on Brazil. Through a unique cooperation with Cinema do Brasil, the audience has the possibility to watch Brazilian films and meet the directors.

Through the cooperation with Cinema do Brasil, the Stockholm Film Festivals audience will have the opportunity to watch six Brazilian films - Obra, Praia do Futuro, Captive Hearts, Trash, Almost Samba and The way he looks. A number of the directors will be attending the festival to present their film to the audience and answer questions. In addition to the movies above, the Festival will also show No Caminho dos Pés in the section iFestival.

- We are happy to be able to present a larger selection of Brazilian films at the Stockholm Film Festival. In addition, having a number of the directors present and giving the industry a chance to establish contacts with Brazil is very satisfying, says Git Scheynius, festival director.

André Strum, Cinema do Brasil comments:

“The possibility of having a selection of Brazilian films at the Stockholm Film Festival is a great opportunity to show new productions to a new and qualified audience. The Festival has a tradition to present new talents that soon became international hits.”

The Stockholm Film Festival will also do a cooperation with the Brazilian artist Laura Lima. In the project Cinema Shadow she creates a unique and magical situation where a feature is filmed while being screened live in a theatre. When the film is completed, the possibility of watching it is gone. The recording begins in Stockholm and ends 8 hours later on the beach Praia do Diablo in Rio de Janeiro. The 25th Stockholm International Film Festival November 5-16 2014.

Stockholm International Film Festival started in 1990 and is today one of the leading competitive film festivals in Europe. The festival takes place every year in November with over 200 films from more than 60 countries. More than a festival: we organize exclusive screenings and the popular Summer Cinema – an outdoor mini-festival. Every year in spring the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior brings the latest films to youngsters between 6 and 16 years of age.

WE LOVE FILM!
