Inspired by the hit TV show “The Great British Bake Off” and upcoming Christmas festivities, guests who book a break at multi-award winning Boscrowan Farm Self Catering Cottages near Penzance in Cornwall will get the opportunity to bake their own Christmas cake.

From the complimentary pre-measured ingredients provided in each cottage, including eggs from the farm’s free-range chickens, to the equipment, and even the chance to bake in an Aga, guests will get an authentic farmhouse baking experience that Mary Berry would be proud of.

A helping hand from Boscrowan Farm owner Elizabeth Harris is even available if required. She said:

“I absolutely love baking and this time of year is perfect to bake a Christmas cake. The idea came from one of our guests who decided she’d make her Christmas cake whilst holidaying at one of our cottages recently as she simply didn’t have the time to do it once back in her day-to-day life.

“There’s nothing better than the satisfaction of baking a homemade Christmas cake and children love getting involved. I’m sure our guests will never look at one on the supermarket shelf again!”

Elizabeth and her husband David bought Boscrowan Farm in October 1999 and developed two of the buildings into luxury self-catering accommodation. Peace and Plenty is a reverse level barn conversion sleeping four and Ring and Thimble is a thatched cottage that sleeps two. Both cottages are available as short breaks at £90 per night or a week’s stay is £540.

The Christmas Cake Break offer is valid for any stay of three nights or more until 22nd December 2012.
