Teaching Matters' 20th Anniversary Luncheon Features Chancellor Fariña and the Wallace Foundation's Jody Spiro Talking about Leadership, 10/29
What: Teaching Matters is celebrating 20 years of helping to increase teacher effectiveness and improve student outcomes. Since 1994, we’ve worked in about half of New York City’s public schools. This year, we’re honored to have Chancellor Carmen Fariña and Jody Spiro, who heads the Wallace Foundation’s educational leadership initiatives across the country, talk about the best ways to train, hire, support and evaluate principals. Jane Williams of Bloomberg Radio will moderate the discussion.
Why: Teaching Matters has supported teachers and leaders for more than 20 years in urban schools. We recognize the central role of principals in making their schools excellent learning environments for students and accelerating student gains. In this conversation, we hope to spread awareness about school leadership's impact, challenges and opportunities.
