Turku, Finland –  22 October 2018 – Teleste Corporation announced today that it will deliver intelligent, DOCSIS 3.1-capable ampliers to a major utility company (“Customer”) in Salzburg, Austria. Starting in 2018, the deliveries will be carried out over a period of five years, and the total value of the deployment is more than 3 million euros. The project will be coordinated by Witke.TV, Teleste’s partner in Austria, together with Triax Austria GmbH.

Currently, the Customer offers its cable TV subscribers over 150 free TV channels, including 41 HD channels, regional TV and panorama channels, selected premium channels, and online video libraries. The now opted HFC network upgrade will be carried out to ensure the Customer’s future capabilities in meeting subscribers’ requirements for new, attractive services and greater bandwidth.

When selecting suitable amplifiers, special emphasis was put on future-oriented technology and functionality. Teleste's AC series devices were chosen for the deployment because of their DOCSIS 3.1-level capacity performance as well as the rich selection of intelligent features designed to help operators improve operational efficiency.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with our local partner Witke.TV in harnessing our Customer with the HFC infrastructure that meets consumers’ constantly growing data transmission requirements. We are confident that our intelligent amplifiers form a solid solution for the continuous development of broadband services while adding to operational issues such as increasing service uptime and proactive network maintenance”, told Hanno Narjus, Global Head of Teleste’s Network Products business.

Teleste’s AC amplifiers — High-performing, cost-effective solutions for broadband networks

Teleste’s AC series of amplifiers incorporates performance and features that address the needs of the most demanding customers. The DOCSIS 3.1-compliant amplifiers ensure high-speed data transmission capacity for subscribers, even when moving towards bandwidth-hungry content formats such as 4k video. In addition to delivering top-class broadband speeds, operators can utilize these intelligent amplifiers to improve service uptime and reliability and achieve operational benefits such as reduced power consumption and less maintenance work on-site enabled by automatic adjustments and remote management.
