Åke Södermark, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, has chosen to leave TeliaSonera’s Group Executive Management at year-end. He will work for the company until April 1, at which time he will retire.

“I am glad that Åke Södermark continues the important work of implementing our new technology organization. After 39 years in the IT industry, I fully understand his wish to step down,” said TeliaSonera's President and CEO Johan Dennelind.

Åke Södermark has worked in TeliaSonera for six years. He will gradually prepare for retirement and leave all his positions, including the Group Executive Management at year end. Åke Södermark has had a key role in forming TeliaSonera’s new Technology organization.

“I support our new strategy and business model and will therefore remain until we have implemented our new Technology organization,” said Åke Södermark.

Åke Södermark will not be replaced in the Group Executive Management. Sverker Hannervall, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, will assume Åke Södermark’s responsibilities. TeliaSonera’s Group Executive Management will consist of eleven members after the change.
