Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) has received additional data about the schedule for Olkiluoto 3 project from the plant supplier AREVA-Siemens Consortium. According to this data, the start of the regular electricity production of Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant unit will take place in late 2018.

- The Supplier's schedule review has been going on for some time. We have now received data about this review, which is still work-in-progress. However, it is hard for us to accept such a late start-up forecast given by the Supplier because the completion degree is high, the completed works fulfill very high technical standards and we know what the remaining works are, says Jouni Silvennoinen, SVP OL3 Project, from TVO. - We will now evaluate the received data.

- TVO continues to be committed to provide support to the plant supplier and welcomes all viable initiatives to speed up the works in order to complete the project as soon and as efficiently as possible, Silvennoinen assures.

The plant supplier is constructing the plant unit under a fixed-price turnkey contract. TVO selected EPR technology for OL3 in 2003 and AREVA-Siemens Consortium started the construction works in spring 2005 with an objective to start the electricity production in spring 2009.
