Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) has not received the required updated overall schedule for Olkiluoto 3 project from the plant supplier AREVA-Siemens Consortium. TVO therefore does not provide an estimate of the start-up time of OL3 nuclear power plant unit at the moment.

TVO has required an updated overall schedule and clarification of the measures taken to ensure proper progress to complete the plant from the supplier who is in charge of the schedule of the project. Information about the start-up date of electricity production at Olkiluoto 3 plant unit is pending the finalization of the plant supplier’s schedule clarification.

- The completion degree of the construction project is high and EPR is a technically advanced plant. A remarkable milestone was achieved earlier this week when the reactor containment leak-tightness tests were completed. I&C factory testing is also supposed to start soon. There are still works to be done. The remaining works need to be completed effectively and without delay, says Jouni Silvennoinen, SVP OL3 Project, from TVO.

The plant supplier is constructing the plant unit under a fixed-price turnkey contract. TVO continues to provide support to the plant supplier to complete the project as soon as possible.
