Textron Systems Renames Australian Company to Reflect Expanded Services, Continued Commitment to Region

Aerosonde Pt Ltd Now Textron Systems Australia Pty Ltd

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — SEPTEMBER 1, 2016 — Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) business, announced today that it has renamed its Melbourne, Australia-based company, Aerosonde Pty Ltd, to Textron Systems Australia Pty Ltd, reflecting a rebranding of its broader service offering and continued commitment to the Asia-Pacific region.

Textron Systems Australia  Pty Ltd has decades of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) expertise, including the origination of the Aerosonde™ Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS). The Australia-based company specializes in all facets of unmanned aviation including ground control technologies, training and simulation systems, logistical, engineering and support services. In addition, Textron Systems Australia Pty Ltd, which has provided a single resource for UAS or operational services across the entire Asia-Pacific region to Antarctica, has strong ties to the region’s aviation community, including Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority, or CASA.

With this experience, the company supports other Textron Systems businesses including TRU Simulation + Training with maintenance and training, Textron Systems Support Solutions with Shadow® Tactical UAS flight maintenance, as well as program management, business development and other support. For example, the business provides flight instruction and maintainer training for Textron Systems’ Shadow Tactical UAS, as well as flight simulator maintenance and maintenance training on the C-17 Globemaster aircraft.
