Kraft’s Baker’s Chocolate and The Balancing Act® announce Winners of fall recipe contests
(Pompano Beach, FL – October 25, 2012) Prepare your sweet tooth! The Balancing Act® has paired up with Kraft’s Baker’s® Chocolate and announced the winners of the ‘Tales of Fall Treats’ recipe contest and ‘Next Celebrity Chef’ video contest. Followers of The Balancing Act® on Facebook and Twitter were eligible to submit their homemade chocolate desserts for a chance to win some sweet prizes.
Pioneers of America’s oldest brand of chocolate, Baker’s® has been serving the chocolate community for over 230 years. Started by John Hannon and Dr. James Baker in Massachusetts, the brand has evolved and spread throughout the world as a household name.
Did you know…?
- Baker’s first gained fame for its chocolate drink? Made from hard cakes and water, patriots popularized this drink after the Boston Tea Party.
- German’s Sweet Chocolate isn’t actually from Germany? Previously limited to one kind of chocolate, Baker’s employee Samuel German created a chocolate that was much sweeter than others on the market.
- If you lined up the amount of Baker’s chocolate squares consumed in a year it would span the Grand Canyon 9 times? That’s a lot of chocolate!
Through the social media channels Facebook and Twitter, viewers of The Balancing Act® and devoted Kraft’s Baker’s® Chocolate lovers were able to submit their favorite fall desserts to participate in the ‘Tales of Fall Treats’ recipe contest. The dessert with the most votes won a grand prize of $1000. Second and third place took home $500 and $250 respectively.
