British Riding Clubs (BRC) Festival of the Horse, sponsored by NAF, goes from strength to strength where the Challenge Class, which replaced the cross-country competition in 2009, continues for the third year.

The format is a test of the ability of a horse and rider to negotiate a course of seven to ten show jumps, together with 15-28 cross-country fences. The class is available to junior and senior Riding Club members at Novice and Open level plus a Pairs class for those who don’t want to go it alone! All Challenge classes require qualification at Area level.

The Festival of the Horse Combined Competition also requires qualification at Area level and this competition consists of two phases, Riding Test (RT14-2010 for juniors and seniors) and Style Jumping for both juniors and seniors. There is a selection of 14 showing classes plus a Supreme Championship Class.

NAF, who are in their second year of sponsoring this event, will once again be giving away a £1,000 Training Bursary to the lucky junior and senior winner and their nutritionists will be on hand with supplement advice and support.

The event takes place on 4 and 5 June at Washbrook Farm, Aston-le-Walls, Daventry, Northamptonshire NN11 6RT. There is no charge for admission and the weekend promises something for all spectators.
