British Riding Clubs NAF Winter Championships

British Riding Clubs 2012 Winter Championships took place at Hartpury College recently, and with a record number of entries, both the showjumping and dressage were hotly contested. The event was once again sponsored by NAF.

Rother Valley RC came out on top in the senior winter dressage, with their team of Sarah Baldwin (Hawkhurst, Kent) riding Athlone Sox, Clare Walton-Coe (Bexhill-on-Sea) riding Carenthago Z, Tanya Draude (Brede, East Sussex) riding Bill Bailey and Lisa Pillbeam (Etchingham, East Sussex) riding Cullawn My Way.

Sarah Baldwin also earned the prestigious title of overall individual dressage champion.

The showjumping event saw Horsham RC take the crown, thanks to their team members of Caroline Exley (North Holmwood, Surrey) Hayley Dumbrell (Horsham, West Sussex) Vicky Allan (Ashurst, West Sussex) and Amanda Jane Harwood-Stamper (Horsham, West Sussex). They were riding Copperfield Iris, Total Eclipse, Razzle Dazzle and Lucifers Star respectively.

Sunday was junior day and every competitor had winning intentions, but dressage champions were Nantwich RC ,made up of Alice Kearns (Spurstow, Cheshire) and Clyde, Ellie Foster (Crewe) and Netherfield Solero, Zoe McLellan (Willaston) and Chinook Nicole, William Blackshaw (Nantwich) and An Absolute Snip.

The overall individual title was won by a member of the second placed West

Devon RC team, Stacie Harrison from Buckfastleigh, riding Hillam My Dudley.

The showjumping title went to Cambridge RC thanks to Ella Rogers (Langford, Bedford) and Calico, Hettie Rogers (also of Langford) and Rhydycar Holilock, Emma Butler (Stow-Cum-Quy, Cambridge) and Ben, and Rachel Dyke (Royston) and Waterside Bay.
