Ebony Cossey from Fivehead, Taunton has won the Junior Novice Showjumping title in the Amtrust Equine RWHS Unaffiliated Championships at the Royal Windsor Horse Show

The competition gives grass roots riders a unique opportunity to compete at Royal Windsor. All competitors are members of the British Riding Clubs movement and earned their places in these finals at individual riding club qualifiers held across the UK.

Ebony rode Fifth Avenue who she has partnered for about three years. The pair enjoy taking part in showjumping competitions, especially representing their local riding club, Taunton and District Riding Club.

Speaking after the prize giving Ebony said: “I don’t think it’s really hit me that I’ve actually won here yet! I though it would go crash! I came here last year but I had the joker down in the Top Score, so I’ve done a lot better this year!”

It was a successful show all round for the Cossey family, as Ebony’s elder brother Ollie came third in the Senior Intermediate Championship earlier in the week with his horse Lulu.

Perdie Reid, Claims Manager at Amtrust Equine, said: “We’ve had an absolutely wonderful show. For us this is what it is all about – supporting grass roots horses and ponies. Riding Club horses are exactly the type of animals we want to insure, so this competition is perfect for us to support.”
