Co-founder and CEO of Marker takes on role to drive the Group-wide strategy of a joined up, platform approach

The Marketing Group PLC (TMG), today announces that Jon Beattie has taken on the role of group chief technology officer reporting to Adam Graham, CEO. The new position reflects the Group’s focus on technology and its commitment to a platform approach as a global marketing company.

He will drive the technological backbone of the Group to unlock more opportunities for collaboration and to provide a seamless, unified approach for clients.

With responsibility for shaping TMG’s technology strategy for the Group’s agencies, Beattie will work with individual technology specialists within each agency to share best practice.

Beattie will combine his new role with his position as CEO and co-founder of TMG agency Marker. Through his role at Marker, a leading digital transformation, product development agency and games studio, Beattie has worked across a wide range of organisations and industries on digital projects in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

About Jon Beattie

Beattie has nearly 20 years’ experience in digital and technology leadership and has worked with a broad range of organisations and industries in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, to deliver value using technology and digital. 

Just some of the clients that he has worked with during his career include Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment, Air New Zealand, World Vision, St John, Yellow Pages, Commbank, Royal Mail, Barclays, and McLaren. He has delivered hundreds of digital and technology projects during his career and is known for his strong strategic focus and ability to traverse commercial and technology to create great customer experiences, leveraging best of breed technology. 

Beattie is also an active investor in the start-up community and acts as an advisor and non-executive director to many start-up teams. Jon is a Limited Partner in the Global From Day 1 - Fund II venture capital fund. 

Outside of the business world, Beattie is also a soldier in the NZ Army Reserve and has served overseas on humanitarian and reconstruction projects in the Pacific.
