As communicated in a short press release after the award cermony, Thule was recognized with the coveted iF Gold Award, the highest iF Design honor, for two new products in Thule’s Active with Kids range: Thule Chariot Sport multisport trailer and Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi child bike seat. The iF Gold Award is one of the most renowned international design awards and considered a quality seal for excellence in design

On March 10, 2017, at the BMW Welt museum and exhibition in Munich, this year’s iF Gold Award winners were announced and awarded in front of 2,000 international design industry professionals. Out of a total of more than 5.500 entries from 59 countries, the jury only honored 75 products with the highest prize – the iF Gold Award. The jury, with 58 international design experts, awarded
Thule Chariot Sport and Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi for outstanding design in the category Babies/Kids.

“We are honored to receive two iF Gold Awards for our innovative juvenile products. Winning two awards in one year in what many in the industry considers to be the Oscars of Design, is once again a confirmation that we have a world-class design and development organization”, commented Magnus Welander, CEO of Thule Group.

iF Gold Award 2017: Thule Chariot Sport
With Thule Chariot Sport, Thule has developed the ultimate multisport trailer for athletes and their kids, focusing on smart design, safety, comfort, and innovation. It is part of Thule’s new line of Thule Chariot multisport trailers, allowing you to transform your bike trailer into a stroller, jogger, or even a ski pulk.
The iF Gold Award jury states:
“The Thule Chariot stroller won us over immediately with its ergonomic perfection, both as a bike trailer and as a stroller. The use of materials and workmanship are first class. For its young passengers, the Chariot offers an interior with the highest level of comfort, while their parents will enjoy maximum flexibility for all areas of use: when jogging, biking, shopping or just going for a stroll.

iF Gold Award 2017: Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi
Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi is a lightweight, comfortable, and safe rear-rack-mounted child bike seat that lets you and your child enjoy everyday bike rides together. The unique design is inspired by modern bike helmets, which has resulted in a very lightweight and comfortable seat with a stylish, sporty look.
The iF Gold Award jury states:
“This child bicycle seat won over the jury with its refined ergonomics, from the mounting system for connecting the seat to the cargo rack, to the uncomplicated safety buckle. The ultralight sandwich construction method (a hard exterior shell paired with a soft insulating interior layer) combines comfort and safety.”

Thule Chariot Sport multisport trailer and Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi child bike seat will be available in stores this spring.

In addition to the iF Gold Awards 2017 for Thule Chariot Sport and Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi, Thule received iF Product Design Awards 2017 for Thule Subterra Carry-On 55cm luggage and Thule Motion XT roof box.
