NATIONAL YOUTH GUITAR ENSEMBLE TUNES UP FOR DEBUT CONCERT IN BIRMINGHAM

The Adrian Boult Hall and Woodbrook Quaker Study Centre are to host a weekend of concerts in Birmingham presented in association with the European Guitar Teacher’s Association Conference 2011. The concerts commence on Friday 5th August with a performance at the Adrian Boult Hall by the National Youth Guitar Ensemble that represents the U.K’s finest young guitarists led by Oxford based composer Gerald Garcia. 

NYGE will be performing an eclectic programme of works for guitar ensemble and electric guitar featuring the iconic Electric Counterpoint by Steve Reich, works by Dyens, Love and a new work written for the ensemble by composer David Carroll.

On Saturday 6th August  Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre will feature special guest recitals by Ian Watt and Matthew Wilkinsontwo young stars of classical guitar and on Sunday 7th August a performance by Craig Ogden.
